Optimum Scheduling of Truck-Based Mobile Energy Couriers (MEC) Using Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient
Published in Intelligent and Converged Networks, 2025
We introduce a truck-based mobile energy courier (MEC) system to enhance grid flexibility and resilience in renewable-rich power networks. Each MEC carries onboard energy storage and power electronics to deliver energy where it’s most needed. Using deep reinforcement learning under the DDPG framework, the system optimizes routing and scheduling to minimize generation costs. Results show notable cost savings compared to traditional static storage solutions.
